culture-wachusett-music-copyWachusett Music Series might just be the best music series you’re NOT going to ~ and it’s time to change that.  The series is going into its 15th year of presenting quality music to the community.  Over the years, they’ve brought in a variety of performers ~ both regional and national ~ including folk favorites Cheryl Wheeler, Ellis Paul and Janis Ian.  This year will feature Chris and Meredith Thompson, Barbara Kessler, and Bob Martin as well as some other amazing regional performers.

Part of Wachusett Music Series’ goal is to promote up and coming stars ~ the duo of Lori Diamond and Fred Abatelli as well as solo performer Perry Desmond-Davies are artists whose careers are taking off and who will be appearing during this season’s series.  Also taking the stage are some long-time series favorites ~ as well as Tracy Grammer, who will be making her first Wachusett appearance.

The musical line-up for the season ~ which generally consists of one show per month starting in October and running through April ~ appeals to all ages and the venue, the First Church of Christ Unitarian in Lancaster, MA, is intimate and comfortable (and also wonderful for those with an interest in history, as it was built by the architect Charles Bulfinch).  Performances are on Saturdays evenings; doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. There is a concession stand that offers coffee, tea, soda, water and baked goods ~ and all the proceeds go either to the group that is running the concessions or to the Item Appeal.  Wachusett Music Series feels strongly that it is important to help its neighbors in the community at large through donations.
