It’s my job to keep up with all things Worcester, but if there’s one thing I love, it’s wearing sweatpants and watching professional wrestling with my children on my couch. I mostly exist within a two mile radius of my house, but it’s getting increasingly difficult to stay in because there is so much going on.
There’s the Live Forever comedy open mic at Ralphs every Tuesday with everybody’s favorite host Shaun Connolly. You can listen to live music at Vincents or find a place to sing karaoke every night of the week. Obviously, Beyond Wrestling at the White Eagle every Thursday forever. From the concerts and Broadway in Worcester shows at the JMAC to Alien Ant Farm playing at Off the Rails this October, there’s literally something for everybody.
I could hear Breakaway Mass last year from my house and had no idea what it was, but the amazing Kevin La filled me in. Basically, Breakaway is the largest touring festival in the country, combining globally recognized artists with local DJs from the world of electronic dance music, bringing in thousands of people from all over New England to the Palladium.
Two things here:
1. If it weren’t for Kevin La, I would still assume EDM shows mostly happened either at Burning Man or raves in abandoned factories.
2. This massive festival moved out of Boston to come to Worcester because we’re a better fit for the event.
The whole point of this is to say, there’s a lot going on in Worcester, and Pulse is here to deliver all of it directly to you through print or online. I prefer print because I’m taking a more analog route, but whatever works best for you. So stay in your sweatpants while you read our weekly curated event emails and map out your weekend, because there really is something for everybody.
