Another Opening: Café Neo also had its ribbon cutting the first week in July at its new location at 289 Harding Street, just a street over from its former location. Owner Peter Tsiges has done a great job on the space and looks forward to seeing all of his karaoke regulars.

The Taco Challenge: The name says it all, after four knockout rounds, with readers delivering thousands of votes, the Taco Spot on Grafton Street in Worcester has emerged as the preferred place for tacos in the region. The Taco Spot beat out the Canal District’s El Patron Mexican Restaurant along with 15 other restaurants, to earn the reader-determined designation as the Best Taco Spot in Central Massachusetts.

Stop Wining: Canal District Wines, located in Worcester’s Public Market, did not renew their lease and closed down at the end of July. The women owned LGBTQ+ business was a nice addition to the Canal District, especially with all the new housing coming online.
It’s Not The Cheesecake Factory: Rhode Island based, Who Cut the Cheesecake, will soon be opening a brick-and-mortar store on Millbury’s Main Street.
It’s All Greek To Me: It’s not the Plaka in Athens, but Gyro & Souvlaki has opened in the space on Chandler Street which formerly housed Root & Press before they moved to Worcester’s Shrewsbury Street.
Local Face Wins: Terrel Wilson, the former chef at Worcester’s Beer Garden on Franklin Street, was the winner of the Bar 25 in Ayer giveaway. Wilson and his partner, Mathew Lucas were chosen to get the lease for free by a panel of chef judges.
