Making you feel all warm and fuzzy inside
By Rachel Shuster
Joey’s Bar and Grill is a welcoming place with an eclectic menu and knowledgeable staff. Previously located on Mill Street, Joey’s moved to 344 Chandler Street in November of 2011 and is better than ever.
Whether it’s their customers or staff or food or ambiance, or a combination of it all, Joey’s has that something special that keeps people coming back. “We found this Chandler Street location and all of our Mill Street customers and staff members came with us. Not one of our staff members chose not to come,” says Erika Rovezzi, whose husband is Joey himself. The new location seats between 130-140 and a function room adds 50 more seats.
No wonder there is such a sense of customer and staff loyalty ~ the menu is yummy and huge! For apps (all $14 and under), check out the chili glazed gulf shrimp or lobster rangoon. The lunch menu consists of salads like the cranberry chicken salad and sandwiches like the turkey reuben and entrees including steak tips and spinach pie ~ and all lunch items are under $12! Dinner’s next with menu items from lamb shank and baby back ribs to eggplant napoleon and seafood picatta. And yes, all dinner items are under $26!
What sets Joey’s apart from other Worcester restaurants? “Consistency and love. Our food is consistent and creative in that you may get a basic meal, but the presentation and flavor completely stand out. Our chef, Peter Rano, is amazing and Joey is always in the building. Joey’s motto is, ‘Everything has love in it.’ To have customers know we care about them and want them here is instilled in Joey and all of us,” Rovezzi says.
That sense of caring extends beyond the walls of the restaurant, as Joey’s also stays active in the Worcester community by continuously supporting various fundraisers.
Joey’s is open for lunch Monday-Friday 11am-4:30pm and for dinner Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-9:30pm and Friday and Saturday 4:30pm-10:30pm. The bar remains open nightly even after the kitchen closes.

The article is right on target. Consistency is one of the best ways to describes Joey’s. There are very few restaurants in the area where you can count on a perfect meal each and every time you enter their door.
The food is consistently delicious. the special consistently amazing, the staff consistently friendly and the atmosphere consistently fun.
One of my favorite places. I always look forward to my next time there.
