The famous jiggly snack Jell-o has a snazzy new jingle sung by our own Worcester County (Holden, to be exact) girl, Kim Divine. The radio and television commercials, which feature Divine’s voice, are now airing nationally ~ a dream come true for any musician.
But Pulse Magazine knew Ms. Divine was headed for stardom when we featured her in 2006. We’re happy to report the bright lights of Los Angeles have not gone to the musician’s head. Like Jell-o, she is as sweet and vocally delicious today as she was back in the day.
“It’s really amazing hearing your voice in a commercial,” Divine, 30, says. “I forget sometimes that I even recorded it and then I’ll hear it and say, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s me!’ It’s kind of surreal.”
Jell-o isn’t the only job that has been keeping Divine busy. Gracing the sports world with her talents, Divine has performed The National Anthem and “God Bless America” at an LA Dodgers baseball game and from the floor of Madison Square Garden during a NY Knicks basketball game. Also breaking into the world of television and entertainment, she was recently seen on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno during a segment dubbed “Meal or No Meal.” Divine sang a song that included all of the U.S. presidents’ first and last names. In the crazy world of reality television, two of Divine’s songs ~ “Blue Skies” and “Letting Go” ~ were featured in a recent episode of MTV’s “The Real World: New Orleans.”
Divine loves staying active and being involved in so many exciting projects. But when the glitter settles, she’s truly all about the music. This young star has already released three albums during her career: Here and In Between, Hummingbird, and 2009’s Square One. Her newest single, “Easy on Me,” (produced by Bill Lefler) is available for digital download through iTunes and Amazon and is representative of this beautiful artist’s light and truthful heart. The catchy, invigorating song is reminiscent of the tunes of Michelle Branch, Jewel and Colby Caillat ~ it’s love at first listen.
When she’s not in the midst of creating great music, Divine enjoys getting out into nature, spending time with good friends and sharing her day with her beloved dog.
