If you’re not a sports fanatic or history buff, you might not know that baseball’s first “perfect game” was pitched right here in Worcester in 1880 by Lee Richmond of the Worcester Ruby Legs.
Now this Worcester milestone has inspired a brand-new nightspot, Perfect Game, located at 64 Water Street in the Canal District. Partners Mike Erlich, his brother Mark Erlich, Stephen Debs and manager David Domenick worked together to bring their sports-bar concept to Worcester.
“I’m really passionate about sports,” said Mike, a Worcester criminal defense attorney. “I’ve always wanted to do this.”
A “Worcester Wall of Fame” of sports memorabilia honors Central Massachusetts’ biggest names in professional athletics, including Celtics legend Bob Cousy, former Red Sox catcher Rich Gedman, and one-time Yankee relief pitcher Tanyon Sturtze. The bar will focus mainly on sports and games, but will cater more to a “lounge” crowd after 10 p.m.
Whether you like good old domestic drafts or craft beers and high-end tequilas, there’s something for everyone at the bar, said Erlich. And if you’re hungry, check out the food offerings. The menu was designed by former Thymes Square on Hudson chef Gary Killeen. Choose from appetizers, sandwiches, salads and entrees (steak, chicken and seafood), or build your own burger, starting with a six, eight or 12-ounce patty and your choice of several custom toppings.
Perfect Game also promises a literal swinging good time, with its Full Swing Golf high-definition simulator. Bring your own golf clubs or rent a set at the bar, and play virtual versions of some of the world’s finest championship courses, like Pebble Beach and St. Andrews.
“We’re hoping to do promotions with this ~ golf leagues, corporate challenges, fundraisers, competitions with the colleges,” Erlich said.

Decent beer liquior selection.
I ordered a burger with blue cheese and waffle fries.
Th eburger was way under cooked and they need to place much more blue cheese as a topping. Waffle fries where so so nothing special perhaps a cajum season would spice this up.
All in all the food was average noting total special.Its a new establishement and then have there growin and I’m sure there food menu will improve
