Do you ever get that heavy, greasy, guilty feeling after indulging in some hearty Chinese food? Well, feel guilt-free and light as air when you visit the Buddha Hut, located at 415 Chandler Street in Worcester.

At Worcester’s very own vegan Chinese food restaurant, you can find the same great taste of your favorite Chinese food dish without the fat, calories or meat if you like! Judging by its sister restaurant, Quan Yin, one of Central MA’s top vegetarian restaurants, Buddha Hut will gain a loyal following. The family run restaurant has only been around for about a month, but it’s already causing a lot of buzz with its unique menu and welcoming ambiance.

Versatile, offering both casual take-out and formal, sit-down dining, Buddha Hut prides itself on serving healthy, tasty dishes. “We focus on the healthier side of things,” says Ty Ngo. “We use a lot of seafood, tofu and soy bean.”

Even those who aren’t vegetarian can appreciate the varied, no-meat menu. Try the spring rolls, lo mien, rice, and seafood dishes Or sample a few of Buddha Hut’s mock-meat dishes like sesame “beef,” kung pao “chicken,” heavenly “chicken,” and Peking “duck.”

All entrees go for about $7 – $8 with the exception of the Peking duck at about $11. Also check out their lunch specials ~ they’re the same size same portion for only $5 and also include rice, a fried wonton, and a spring roll. Not too shabby! Make sure to try the delicious appetizers and smooth and rich smoothies while you’re there, too.

Whether you’re vegan or not, the Buddha Hut is sure to please your taste buds. It’s sure nice to know that when you want a break from burgers and steaks, you can head to this meat-free oasis.
