And This Year, There’s Big News!

Those of you who are faithful readers of Pulse Magazine (and to those of you who aren’t ~ shame on you!) know that I am obsessed with the Leprechaun movies…each and every one of them. So what would an October issue be without at least some mention of the gold-mongering, shoe-obsessed, bow-legged little creep, right? It gives me tremendous pleasure (probably too much…it’s been suggested that I see someone about this fixation) to announce that there’s a very exciting rumor to report just in time for Halloween. Now, I say “rumor” because, although some very reputable sources claim that the following information is true, some equally reputable sources claim that it’s just a hoax ~ and the grainy trailers kind of back up that latter claim…but hope springs eternal, so in my little world, the info is 100% true.

So here it is, The Big News:

There is going to be…wait for it, wait for it…a Chucky v Leprechaun movie! That’s right, from the same geniuses who brought us Freddy v Jason, here’s a case of “Go pick on someone your own size.”

This is a match-up for the ages. WWE, take notes. Alien and Predator, here’s how it’s done. Bloggers and the world over are taking sides over which pint-sized horror icon would kick which pint-sized horror icon’s pint-sized ass. Me? I think Chucky would take the belt…he’s just plain evil and doesn’t need gold as an incentive (even though he’s got a wife and kid to provide for). HOWEVER, if you ask me who packs more of a fashion punch, I’d have to say any of the Leprechauns ~ Angus, Finbar, Feidhlim, Killian Skywalker, Liam, and Rory ~ …hat sitting jauntily over pointy ears, nice velvet jacket, snappy hose, custom made (well, they look it, anyway) shoes, even a spiffy watch fob from time to time… these guys obviously care a little more about their images than does perpetually overall-sporting Chucky…

Adding to my conviction that the C v L movie will indeed happen is a blurb on Warwick Davis’s (the actor who plays the Leprechauns) official website, www.warwickdavis.co.uk, posted by his son Steven:

“My father is Mr. Davis, knowing him, I should know the truth about another ‘Lep’ movie. My father is trying to work with the director of ‘Chucky‘ to maybe put together another ‘Lep 7.’ He said if all goes according to plan, the movie will be called ‘Chucky Vs Leprechaun.’ The confusion with that movie is how will Mr. Davis make a sequel to this movie like he has with all the other ones. They have made a preview of the movie…”

Anyway, although I am convinced that this movie will be hitting theatres very soon, you can draw your own conclusions based on the trailers on-line ~ just head to You Tube and search Chucky vs Leprechaun.
