Summertime is upon us and there is nothing more delicious than a Saturday night of dancing, drinking and socializing with friends (or perhaps getting cozy with that stranger who has yet to become a friend).  But if you’re tired of the same old scene and looking for a new place that pleases your entire crowd, head down to Park Avenue and rock the night away at Club Universe.

Now heading into its second year, Club Universe is a hot venue with a vibrant ambiance and a mission to fill Worcester’s summer nights with banging beats.  Owner Niko Agora has prepared a schedule of events that includes College Thursdays, International Fridays, Latino Saturdays and ~ during the warmer weather ~ the under 21 crowd can own the club on Sunday nights from 7:30Ppm to 11pm.  Live DJs, live bands, and only the hottest tracks keep the place bumping all week long.

Manager Laurie Lapointe, a Worcester resident herself, says that the Worcester community has really welcomed Club Universe with open arms.  She credits the excellent and attentive staff as a major reason for the club’s success.

“We’re all very friendly here,” says Lapointe.  “Like a big family.”

For those who have two left feet and desire a little more than just shaking their groove thangs, Club Universe has a number of other tantalizing options.  Grab a stick and see if Lady Luck is on your side at one of the four pool tables.  Or strike up a conversation with another sports fan as the two of you catch a game on one of the 15 HD televisions.

Club Universe offers a large and yummy drink menu, too.  Lapointe suggests the old favorites; cool off with a yummy Long Island or turn up the sassy with a Sex on the Beach.  Or, if you’re feeling trusting/daring, put your faith in Bartender Amber’s hands.  According to Lapointe, this diva of drinks has a way with mixing.  Not only can she perfect your old stand-bys, she isn’t afraid to make up drinks as she goes along, should you be feeling adventurous.

But possibly the best summer feature of Club Universe, according to Lapointe, is the outdoor seating. “You can go outside and have a drink in our roped-in, sidewalk area.  People love to go out there with a drink and just cool off.”
