Nestled in amongst the shops and businesses on Main Street in Worcester is a new establishment with a unique spelling to part of its name- The Haus of Art. In the front window that faces the street, the description of the business says that it’s a permanent jewelry store and nail studio. But if you look at the beautiful logo, with a pink and white butterfly in the middle, and The Haus of Art written above it, then look at what is written under the butterfly – your story created, you get a better idea of what this business is all about.
Stephanie Andrews is the young lady who is the owner of the business. She was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the Framingham/ Natick area at the tender age of five. Growing up, Stephanie said that her family always celebrated everything, and that was a very special part of her life. In the back of her mind, that was something that she wanted to see others experience as well.
Stephanie worked in the corporate world for a few years, and although she says she enjoyed it and met some very wonderful people, she still had the idea of creating a place for others to have special celebrations. And so, she began to think about how to make that happen. But, like the rest of the world, those plans were put on hold when the COVID pandemic hit.
Never one to be deterred, Stephanie continued to plan. She already was designing permanent jewelry (bracelets and necklaces that have no clasp to open to take the piece off or put it on), and was a nail stylist in her home area, but she wanted to offer more. In 2023, she made the move to Main Street in Worcester, and officially opened the doors of The Haus of Art on September 21st.
This new business offers permanent jewelry and nail design, but there is so much more. When you enter the business, you are greeted with a warm, welcoming décor of pink, white, and gold. And while this color scheme is geared toward women, there is the reminder of what the building originally housed- one of the oldest hardware stores in the country- Elwood Adams Hardware. That store, which began in 1782, closed in 2017. Creatively woven into the new design are the elements of the original hardware store- the overhead pipes, the brick wall, and other components.
The Haus can also be booked for those types of memorable gatherings that Stephanie so fondly remembers, as well as for business and other events. Some of the events that have been held include bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, girls’ night out, bachelorette parties, and more. And on the business side, workshops, podcasts, and book club meetings are just a few of the possibilities.
The possibilities are endless, and Stephanie is more than willing to meet with you to discuss an event that you might want to consider.
