On Sunday, May 27, The Canal District Alliance will host Worcester’s Art Walk. The event will feature the work of local artists along Water Street from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The Canal District Alliance hopes this fun event can shine light upon the Canal District and all the creative work that Worcester has to offer!
“Art is part of what’s so great about Worcester,” event Chairman Pam Bobay said. The Art Walk hosts artists of many different mediums. Last year, the event held 20-30 artists, including musicians.
This year, Art Walk will be even bigger. There will be a focus on the history of the Canal District and a table for children who want to display their art. Also, there will be an online gallery of local art, so art lovers can admire see where the artists’ work and where they are located.
“So much is happening with this city, it is really great to contribute!” Bobay said. So, grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants on the street, enjoy learning about the history of the Canal District, and take in all the art as you walk down the street! If you cannot make it, Art Walks will happen throughout the summer. (June 24, July 29, Aug. 26, Sept. 3, Oct. 28).
