Always up for a good makeover show? Check out the new web series, Cute Him Up, which looks at how relationships are affected by what the guy wears. It has been said that love is blind, but when it comes to fashion, most women agree that certain faux pas are often impossible to ignore, no matter how strong the bond.
The series premiered in January with six back-to-back episodes, each centered on a different couple facing a similar dilemma: How can a woman get her man to improve his wardrobe while staying true to his personal style?
Each episode of Cute Him Up begins with a fashion critique delivered by host and professional style expert, Jess Zaino, who has also appeared on ABC Television, MTV, and E! Zaino then goes shopping and selects a new look for the guy, in keeping with his unique personality and taste. Next comes the fun part: Seeing how the couple reacts!
Executive producers Michael Schelp and Brant Reiter have previously executive produced television programming for American cable networks, including Spike TV, ESPN, SyFy and Discovery Science.
“This is our second foray into web programming … and we’re really enjoying the freedom the web affords to try new things. Online, the budgets are not as high, but we can make fun, short programs. Cute Him Up is filled with drama, humor and heart,” Schelp said.
Reiter, whose wife Sally Cannon is a professional stylist, sheds light on the inspiration behind the show, “Cute Him Up derives from my real-life experiences. Before we were married, she started buying me clothes and trying to get me into different outfits ~ sometimes subtly, sometimes not. At first I resisted. … But over time, I realized she was right. A woman doesn’t want her man to look like a schlub. She wants her man to look nice ~ to look cute.”
