Astropiano Films has released sophomore feature film, “Mark of the Dog Rose.”

The film follows Gabe Marcel (Giancarlo Madonnini), whose sister, Toni (Alyssa Freedman), goes missing from her New England College. Determined to help find her, Gabe rushes to the scene. Little does he know, the situation is far more serious than he ever imagined. With time running out and police baffled at every turn, Gabe enlists the help of Lacey (Shannon Carter), the sister of a detective on the case. Together, they must race to pick up where police left off, but soon Gabe and Lacey find themselves locked into a game of cat and mouse with evil itself.

Directed by Jessica Cook and written/produced by Shannon Carter, this suspense drama is a mystery that will have audiences on the edge of their seats. The premiere will be held Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Regent Theater in Arlington.

Shot in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, “Mark of the Dog Rose” features an all-New England cast, with numerous local musicians on soundtrack. Oxford native Nicole Fitzpatrick also appears in the film.
