Having found acclaimed success with the 2007 and 2008 smash hit “Destination Calabria” and “Watch Out” sweeping dance floors across the globe, Alex Gaudino has rapidly built up a reputation as, in the words of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, “One of the most prolific producers in Italy.…” He has become a staple in the dance music scene and remains one of the most sought-after remixers, with credits ranging from Tiësto and Benny Benassi to Katy Perry. Thus, Doctor Love is a fitting title for Alex Gaudino’s much-anticipated, second full-length album, dropping on Ultra MusicMarch 12. The Italian DJ and producer operates on electronic dance music and infuses flourishes of pop into his patented propulsive style. In fact, this music is just the right medicine for clubs and festivals all over the world. To celebrate the release of the album, Gaudino is preparing a very special event at this year’s Winter Music Conference in Miami: “Alex Gaudino and Friends Official Album Release Party” will be held on Friday March 15 at Bamboo! More details will be announced soon.

In 2010, Gaudino began working on what would eventually become Doctor Love. After its unveiling, the single “I’m in Love (I Wanna Do It)” skyrocketed to the top of the charts, remaining at number 1 on the Billboard Dance chart for four consecutive weeks in the U.S. Its follow-up anthem, “What a Feeling,” featuring one of the Destiny Child’s ladies gone solo, Kelly Rowland, hit number 6 on the UK single sales chart and dominated radio airwaves everywhere.

Fast forward to his 2012 single, “I Don’t Wanna Dance,” featuring the multi-talented Jaime Gomez, known as “Taboo” to his friends and bandmates (Black Eyed Peas) – here Gaudino raises the stakes completely. Merging Gaudino’s inimitable style with Taboo’s infectious vocals and a hook penned by chart-topping sensation Taio Cruz, it’s bound to set off dance floors globally as a massive club/crossover hit. Described as “…an undeniable energetic bomb complete with catchy synths and well-integrated chopped up vocals…” by electronic music blog Cave Man Sound, this track will make you want to dance…no, make that have to dance!

“I Don’t Wanna Dance” came together organically and naturally ~ as most great songs do. “I met Taboo on a plane,” recalls Gaudino with a smile. “We were flying back from Tenerife to Madrid. He was like, ‘Let’s do something together’. I was into it immediately. Taboo came back with some ideas, and one of them was this track.  It’s not a proper club track per se. It’s got a big pop vibe. There’s something more to this, and it’s a great introduction to the album.”

Right off the heels of “I Don’t Wanna Dance,” Gaudino is back in action and kicking off 2013 with a new collaboration ~ this time with Canadian pop sensation Ralph Jordan Croucher (aka JRDN) on “Playing With My Heart.” The track is tremendously catchy high-energy pop, yet still the perfect soundtrack for a Saturday night dancefloor ~ and JRDN’s flawless vocals are the perfect counterpart to Gaudino’s stellar (as-always) production. This single is the first in a series of tracks that will be released in anticipation of Doctor Love.

The record as a whole stands out as a veritable powerhouse, boasting diverse and dynamic collaborations, such as song-seamstress Jordin Sparks, who lends her vocals to “Is This Love?,” R&B singer Mario, notorious for his song “Let Me Love You,” featured on “You’re Beautiful,” and major global sensation Jay Sean on “Promise.” At the same time, everything boils down to one universal idea and feeling for Gaudino.

I’m a music lover,” says the artist. “I love all aspects of dance music from Chicago house to dubstep. I’ve always been attracted to the DJ world. It was still underground when I started, but now it’s in the same lane as pop. This album is a big evolution from the first one. I’ve gotten to see the world and play everywhere it opened my mind. It’s been magical.”

The real magic for Gaudino, though, happens on stage; with undeniable energy, he brings every crowd into his world during his acclaimed shows. “I try to get people involved in my set,” he shares. “I want to dance and sing with them. I put my hands up when they do. I’m trying to make a connection. That’s very important to me because people come to festivals or clubs to forget about everything else in their lives. My mission is to help them have a good time.”

That’s exactly what he does every time he hits the studio or the stage. Gaudino concludes, “I love it when people get to party and experience the positive vibes from my music. It’s about feeling the love.”
