Aerosmith ~ those Bad Boys from Boston (as if they really need an introduction!) ~ are known for throwing one mofo of a party, and they’ve got a special one planned for their beloved hometown on Monday, November 5, the day before Election Day.

They’re planning to show up somewhere in the city, around noon, and play on the streets. That’s all Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (bass) and Joey Kramer (drums) are telling us for now. Well, they would LIKE to tell us more, but they’re cooperating with authorities who will only let them reveal the location the morning of November 5.

They (and all of us who are devoted Aerosmith fans) have a good reason to celebrate: their new album Music From Another Dimension! (Columbia Records) drops November 6. It’s no coincidence the Bad Boys chose that date, either, because they want to send a message, loud and clear: “People, get out and vote! For whomever you like. Just do it. Be a Freedom Fighter,’” to quote a song title from the new album. “Anyone who votes is a Freedom Fighter,” says Joe Perry.

America’s greatest, grittiest rock band ~ kings of the double-entendre ~ will then take the party on the road as they’re set to return for the second leg of The Global Warming Tour, launching November 8. The month-long, 14-city arena tour will bring them and support act Cheap Trick to New York City (Madison Square Garden), Los Angeles (Staples Center) and Las Vegas (MGM Grand Garden Arena), among other cities. Expect nothing less than the energy, theatrics, unmatched vocals, and all-around kick-ass rock-n-roll debauchery that Aerosmith has always given us.  Check out all the tour dates at the links at the bottom of the page.

Music From Another Dimension! ~ recently chosen by People magazine (9-17-12) as one of the “5 Must Have Albums For Fall” ~ marks Aerosmith’s 15th studio album. It was recorded in Los Angeles and at the band’s studio in Massachusetts and produced by Jack Douglas, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, with the exception of three tracks produced by Tyler and Marti Frederiksen. The album abounds with one highlight after another, including Out Go The Lights,” “Oh Yeah,” “Luv XXX,” “We All Fall Down,” “Street Jesus” and “Can’t Stop Loving You,” on which Tyler duets with Carrie Underwood. The album also includes “Freedom Fighter,” which features Johnny Depp (that’s right, Johnny Depp) on backing vocals. The album’s first two singles have been released simultaneously to radio and are now lighting up the airwaves. The video for “What Could Have Been Love” is in heavy rotation on VH-1, too.

Aerosmith are a living piece of American music history, having sold over 150 million albums worldwide and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are the recipients of countless awards ~ including, to name just a few, four GRAMMYs, eight American Music Awards, six Billboard Awards and 12 MTV Video Music Awards. Proving that they can cross genre-boundaries with ease, these rock legends have even taken home a Soul Train Award for Best Rap Single for their remix of Run DMC’s “Walk This Way,” which is credited with not only re-launching Aerosmith’s career and broadening their audience, but also planting the seed for hugely successful rock-n-rap bands like Limp Bizkit who followed. With scores of multi-platinum albums, Aerosmith continues to inspire generations to get their wings, get a grip, and just push play…not to mention make the most of time spent in an elevator!
