North American dubstep pioneer DATSIK is launching the Firepower Records Tour and will be at The Palladium in Worcester on Thursday, September 6. The momentous tour is in support of his recently launched independent label Firepower and will feature various special guests and label mates, including DELTA HEAVY, TERRAVITA, BARE NOIZE, XKR, GETTER and AFK.
The Firepower Records Tour will feature a one-of-a-kind “Vortex” DJ performance booth with groundbreaking, real-time 3D-mapping technology that will push the evolution of custom visuals and mind-altering effects.
Vello Virkhaus, VJ and Director of V Squared Labs, collaborated with DATSIK to create the initial vortex concept drawn by hand on a single sheet of paper. Together they molded the vortex idea into a full-fledged, 3D-mapping experience combining a loose narrative with themes of space, optical art, machines, robots and firepower integrated into a digital drapery of stunning animation to dress, alter and ultimately bring the “Vortex” to life. The visuals will be delivered by V Squared Labs’ self-designed Epic Prime 3D-mapping video server. The combination of DATSIK’s dark, dirty dubstep and V Squared Labs’ cutting-edge technology will be a marriage of mind-blowing sounds and visuals that cannot be missed.
The Firepower Records Tour is also amping up the audio experience with an additional 50,000 watts courtesy of Canada’s PK Sound, whose credits include Skrillex’s Mothership and Full Flex Tours, the X Tour with Excision and other live experiences with Bassnectar, Z-Trip, De La Soul and many more. Together with the Vortex, the Firepower Records Tour is coming out full guns blazing.

About DATSIK:
One of the hottest names in dubstep today, DATSIK released his debut artist album VITAMIN D on Dim Mak Records earlier this year featuring his freshest instrumentals and collaborations with the likes of Jonathan Davis of KORN, Infected Mushroom, Z-Trip and Messinian. The album includes singles “Evilution,” featuring Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, along with Israeli psy-trance duo Infected Mushroom, and “Fully Blown” with fellow Canadian artist rapper Snak The Ripper. DATSIK (Troy Beetles) has been taking the dubstep scene by storm, blowing up dance floors around the globe with his original style of hip-hop, future-tech bangers. In 2011, DATSIK supported KORN on their “Path Of Totality” tour as well as produced selections on their hard rock-and-dubstep-fusing The Path Of Totality album. In addition, he was also one of the headlining dubstep acts at this year’s Stereosonic festival in Australia. This year he joined Steve Aoki on their co-headlining Deadmeat tour and appeared at Electric Daisy Carnival and I Love This City. With multiple anthems under his belt, countless plays from some of the biggest DJs and an endless perseverance to reach that next step, it’s safe to say that DATSIK has proven himself to be one of the best dubstep artists around. DATSIK also recently launched his own independent label Firepower. Keep up with DATSIK via his popular “Datsik Diaries” series at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BathwQMPVcU.
About FIREPOWER RECORDS:
For DATSIK, FIREPOWER stands out as an extension of his revered and applauded musical persona. “I come from the dark, hip hop-influenced side of dubstep, and I’m trying to create a haven for that style,” he explains. “There are all of these incredible young producers on the rise. I want to elevate them and promote them. If I’m playing a track in my set, I’m likely to sign it and release it. Those are my guidelines, and FIREPOWER’s dance floor ammunition is my contribution to the EDM world.” DATSIK’s specialty is wrecking the dance floor. Barely out of high school, the Canadian artist and producer inked a deal with Excision’s Rottun Recordings. He released a series of successful singles and EPs and rose to prominence as a leader of the underground dubstep scene in North America. After collaborating with the legendary Korn on The Path of Totality, he toured the U.S. with the group. Then, 2012 saw him release his proper full-length debut, Vitamin D, via Dim Mak Records and featuring the epic single “Evilution” (featuring Jonathan Davis of Korn & Infected Mushroom). However, founding a label has always been part of his plan. FIREPOWER began formally contributing to that landscape with the release of AFK & Hizzleguy’s 10-song EP, Full Clip. Unveiled in February 2012 on iTunes and Beatport, the collection solidified FIREPOWER as an explosive force to be reckoned with. Shortly after, the second signing Getter dropped the razor sharp Psycho EP. Other acts that make up the roster include Barron, Rekoil, Terravita, The Frim and DATSIK himself. With tours planned under the label banner and more music on the horizon, they’re well on their way to domination. Either duck and cover or storm the gates with them.
