The man behind Central Massachusetts’ favorite live music performances, the Chris Reddy Acoustic Loops from Hell series that we’ve all enjoyed year-round in more indoor and outdoor venues than I can count, will now be lending his talents to the world of television. No, don’t worry, he’s not leaving music behind by a long shot, but he is partnering on a project that involves a new TV show called “Songwriter,” to be filmed at Berklee School of Music. In order to get the process of fundraising started, Sunny Lake and a dedicated team of other artists have decided on Kickstarter, a secure pledge program offered through Amazon which has successfully helped many people ~ both famous and not ~ raise capital for their specific projects. Says Reddy, “Our goal is to film the pilot this fall, so any pledge donations are greatly appreciated ~ supporters can donate between $1.00 and $5000.00, and the process is quick and easy ~ which is a good thing, since we have only a 30-day window to raise the capital we need!”

Switching gears from the financial aspect of the project to its heart, Reddy, whose reputation as a true advocate for local music approaches legendary, shared that “I became involved with this project because I truly feel the show is unique and will be very successful. It accurately reflects what real musicians go through, from attending music school to writing shows, breaking into the local scene to recording, basically defining themselves as legitimate musicians. The opportunities from this show could be incredibly significant, plus we plan for it to instill in the audience a greater awareness of and appreciation for the local music scene and the musicians who make it possible.”
