“We see classic cars as a form of art and are excited to include them in our festival,” said stART Co-Director Tina Zlody. Over 150 area artists and crafters, live music, school groups, food vendors and kids’ activities will also be a part of the spring event, which this year moves to Green Street in Worcester’s Canal District.

In 2011, more than 75,000 people attended stART’s three festivals, which have always featured local artists and crafters showing and selling their handmade wares. This June, the team of coordinators and countless volunteers is excited for about the change of venue and the new element, which will allow area restaurants and businesses to get involved with the event.

“Our Spring event has been a more mobile festival than our other events,” said Zlody. “We enjoy being able to move around the city and bring attention to up-and-coming areas of Worcester, and try out some new features while we’re at it.” Zlody also mentioned that the change of location would offer stART the opportunity to become a more “urban” street fair, utilizing parking lots and side streets.

The annual stART on the Street: Spring Edition will be held between 11am and 5 pm on Sunday, June 3, with a rain date of June 10. The free festival takes place on Green Street, between Temple and Madison Streets. Area street parking is available, and $1 parking will be available at Union Station.
