That is, unless you’re piloting a radio-controlled (RC) car. RC cars can reach speeds of over 70 MPH, turn on a dime, and come in all shapes, sizes and styles. Best of all, they’re fully customizable, and Gus Morales of Wicked RC in Framingham has all of the parts, accessories and expertise to help you build the car, truck, boat or helicopter of your dreams.

Originally from Venezuela, Gus always had a passion for all things automotive. At a young age he began building and modifying RC cars, a hobby he’s stuck with his whole life. Taking advantage of his mechanical aptitude, Gus moved to Massachusetts for college, becoming a Toyota-certified automotive technician. Once here, he discovered that many people in MA shared his passion and enthusiasm for RC cars. The scene was vibrant and growing, but there were only a few shops that specialized in RC. And with four very distinctive seasons, it took careful planning to be able to burn some RC rubber when the weather wasn’t cooperating. After 12 years of working as an auto mechanic, Gus made the decision to turn his lifelong hobby into a new career and do his part to help grow the MA RC community that was so welcoming to him. He opened Wicked RC in October of 2009 and has never looked back.

Being first-and-foremost an RC fanatic, Gus built the kind of store that he would want to shop in ~ to that end, he has built a custom indoor street-racing course as well as the only off-road rock crawling course in the state right in his shop. He holds regular races and tournaments, making Wicked RC the premiere destination for RC devotees from all over New England. And of course, Gus is always on hand to provide his vast technical and mechanical expertise. He and his team can do any kind of repairs, tuning or modifications you could need. And best of all, you can bring your freshly repaired or modified car directly to the track to put it through its paces.

Gus has hit on a winning formula with his blend of passion, knowledge and community that he’s created with Wicked RC. Go check him out, you’ll be glad you did.
