Tush Denim and Spoil’d
By Sasha Fastovskiy

tushTush Denim has certainly been busy since our last interview. It’s bursting at the seams with new lines of denim, an expanded “Mrs.” department, thrift jeans and purses, and its own lines of Tush cashmere and the coveted Tush sweatpants. Customers are booking and attending the store’s parties, and owners Deb and Shannon are venturing out of the renovated space to promote their denim haven and support local charities like the American Heart Association, among others. “We’re very happy with where we are. We’ve spent a year learning what customers want, and we’ve figured out that if there is something more that the city wants from us, it’ll let us know. So far this well-calculated risk was worth it,” said Deb. Tush has also introduced an online shopping website and is constantly thinking towards the future and better ways to build the city ~ for example, both owners are eagerly looking for Worcester-area artists and designers for trunk shows. “We’re feeding the needs of the stylish, sophisticated clothes-shopper. We’re happy where we are, but [as for expanding] never say never!”

Spoil'd
Spoil'd

Spoil’d has definitely hopped across the border and the trendy boutique’s Worcester location is growing each day. Now carrying Rawyalty denim, an expanded collection of William Rast, French Connection, and exclusive Dom Rebel stock (owner Danielle Traverse is the sole carrier of the DR’s women’s line on the East Coast), Spoil’d is definitely seeing the reflection of the updated lines in the customers. “Worcester is dressier [compared to her Westboro clientele]; it has a lot more male shoppers, and it’s edgier.” Although she has new customers wandering in daily, Traverse isn’t ready to rest on her Spoil’d laurels: “I’m always searching for more; the latest styles, the newest trends, anything to help the store grow. If I can grow it, and maintain it, and it works, then I’ll definitely take it!” As for the following year, watch for an ever-changing stock of L.A. labels as well as tasty fashion shows with Spoil’d’s dessert bar neighbor, Sweet.
