When Halloween rolls around, we’re all inundated with stories of ghosts, goblins, witches and vampires. But when you think about it, real life can be much scarier than anything we’ll ever see in a horror movie. So here we give you some websites that might not necessarily be Halloween-themed, but will freak you out all the same.
Awful Plastic Surgery
www.awfulplasticsurgery.com
What does it take to be camera-ready? Hairdressers, makeup artists, stylists and Photoshop. And often, a scalpel. But as this website evidences, going under the knife has some truly horrifying outcomes. There are photos, videos, testimonies, some scary, others hilarious. But it’ll make you feel better about whatever flaws you think you may have. If this is what it takes to be beautiful by Hollywood standards, pass me the pizza.
Scary Car Commercial
www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqGsT6VM8Vg
It starts out as an innocent car ad. A white sedan glides gracefully through the countryside, bordered by lush, green rolling hills. Soft flute music plays in the background. You’re instantly calmed by the serene surroundings.
And then…well, we can’t really give that away, it would ruin the surprise.
Once your heart rate returns to normal, you’ll probably send it to everyone you know. But be careful if you forward it to your boss. You might be facing some horror of your own in the unemployment line.
BONUS: If you want to see how other people respond to the video, there are several clips of hidden-camera “reactions” to the scary car commercial under the same search.
Super Sized Meals
www.supersizedmeals.com
And America wonders why so many of its citizens are obese. Contributors to SuperSizedMeals.com have consumed heart-stoppers like bacon cereal (crumbled bacon coated in blue cheese dressing,) a “100×100” at West Coast burger chain In-n-Out (100 beef patties, 100 slices of cheese) and bacon-and-cheese-wrapped hot dogs.
If you thought the movie “Super Size Me” was revolting, you haven’t seen anything yet. You’ll giggle at the photos, but you’ll be thinking of your poor arteries. On second thought, cancel my pizza, bring me a salad.
Rotten.com, which bills itself as “…the soft white underbelly of the net, eviscerated for all to see,” is just that. Apparently, there are folks out there who enjoy everything disgusting, macabre and just simply gross, and they’ve turned their morbid curiosity into this website that celebrates the grossness of life (and death.) Whether your own bizarre interests include photos of meth addicts, images of fatal accidents or successful suicide attempts, or an in-depth analysis of dog excrement, it’s all here.
A word of warning: Don’t look at it during your lunch break. Or within a few hours of mealtime. Or, if you want to sleep at night, ever.
The Hills Scary Movie: “The Wall”

If you’re a fan of MTV’s The Hills, you’re familiar with the tumultuous Heidi-Spencer relationship. And if you’re like me, you nearly fell off your couch during the scene where Heidi paints over Spencer’s gaudy “Hollywood” mural in their apartment. Here’s that scene, redone to look like a terrifying black-and-white horror flick. The sad thing is, it doesn’t take much creative editing to make Spencer look like a psychopath…
