The Gym Sports Bar and Grill

There’s a new sports bar in town and it’s giving new meaning to going to The Gym. Located at 385 Main Street in the space that previously housed Seoul Leecci, The Gym Sports Bar and Grille is just the sort of spot that will attract all sorts of people from young professionals to college students to sports fanatics.

First time bar owners Brian LaFlamme and Joe Bibbo looked around downtown for about a year before settling on the location. They began renovations at the end of May, doing most of the work themselves. “We totally rebuilt, there are new ceilings, floors, furniture, it looks great,” LaFlamme said.

With the grand opening happening in the middle of August, The Gym serves lunch and dinner and boasts a full bar with about 8 beers on tap. It also has pool tables, video games, and a basketball hoop, four 42 inch plasmas in the main bar, and a 32 inch LCD and 102 inch projection screen in the back room. The Gym will also have live entertainment and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights.

With a location two blocks from City Hall and right around the corner from the DCU Center, LaFlamme and Bibbo are hoping to host business lunches and pre and post night out drinks, as well as everything in between. They plan on having pool leagues, dart leagues, as well as other special events.
