System of a Down Kickstarts Locobazooka 2005

August 2005 – This year’s Locobazooka! United We Rock! Music and Arts Festival® kicks off on August 27th with a blockbuster show at Worcester’s DCU Center featuring System of a Down and The Mars Volta, with Bad Acid Trip opening this first leg of the tour.

When purchasing a Loco kick-off/System of a Down ticket, fans will have the opportunity to upgrade to the full Locobazooka! Festival Experience at a discount ($34.95 as opposed to $39.95). These tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster on-line (www.ticketmaster.com) and at the DCU Center box office at 50 Foster Street in Worcester (head to www.dcucenter.com for directions). Tickets to all other Locobazooka! festivities are $39.95 and can be purchased at all Strawberries locations, online at www.locobazooka.com, at www.nextticketing.com, or by calling (617)423-6000. This year’s ticket includes admission to a month worth of pre-parties all over New England. The big show itself will take place at Fitchburg Airport on September 18th and includes Disturbed as one of the headliners.

When asked what sets Locobazooka!, now in its 14th year, apart from other summer concerts, Dan Hartwell, Worcester-born Loco founder and head honcho, said, “It’s the only festival of its kind that actually has a dozen or more national headliners along with dozens of local bands that have the opportunity to share the stage with these rock stars. It’s also a festival that gives the fans an opportunity to get an autograph from each and every entertainer at the show.” Visit www.locobazooka.com for more info.
