On the Mic

Don’t forget to check here for the latest on what’s new around town!

Acoustic Java
Haven to local singers/songwriters, Acoustic Java (932A Main Street) has undergone a recent metamorphosis. There’s an expanded customer area, snazzy new floor tiling, an updated dining menu and new professional kitchen equipment. Peterson is very proud of the changes and was beaming when he reported, “We now feature a full line of ice cream products, shakes and sandwiches, I’m wicked excited. And things are a lot roomier now that we’ve opened sixty square feet of space, things are lot more modern.” Also new to AJ is “Me and the Kid,” an original singer/songwriter duo now on tour and hosting open mic every Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. For a full schedule of events check out www.acousticjava.com or call (508) 756-9446.

Club Bravo
All we can say is, “WOW!” On Saturday night, August 20, Bravo (57 Highland Street) will host a smokin’ Summer Lingerie and Pajama Party. Running from 10pm – 2am, the party will feature HOT girls plus $1 Drafts, $2 shots, and $3 mixed drinks. Check out www.1clubbravo.com for more info.

Tammany Hall
The façade of iconic Tammany Hall’s (43 Pleasant Street) has been redesigned and updated. But fear not, longtime friends of Tammany, the original Tammany Hall letters were saved and given a fresh coat of gold paint and once again are prominently displayed above the entrance way. For up-to-date Tammany Hall listings (this summer will feature some big name music acts, both new faces and returning favorites), news and events, visit www.tamhall.com.

Mr. Bob’s Grille
And don’t forget to stop by Mr. Bob’s Grille, too. A new feature of the Tammany experience, the eatery, owned by Executive chef Robert D’Ambra, offers a sidewalk walk-up window as well as seating inside Tammany Hall itself. Says D’Ambra, “Mr. Bob’s” standard fare consists of flame-broiled burgers, dogs and chicken along with “Mr. Bob’s” homemade meatballs and chili topped with mozzarella cheese. “I make everything fresh, made to order, I’ve got fresh seafood which I order daily, and it’s a lot easier to come down to Tammany and grab a bite to eat here before seeing a show than to scramble around the city looking to eat.” Telephone orders can be placed at (508) 799-8908. Full menus are available at the window.

The Crow Bar
The neighborhood sports and all-around good time bar at 3 Mill Street in Worcester is now Club Ice. Perfect timing on the name change, we think, since this summer has turned into a scorcher!

FooBar

Come join the fun on Thursday, August 25 at 9:30 p.m. ~ the contest is just one more reason that Foo (433 Park Ave.) has earned its title as “The Ultimate Good Time Bar.” FooBar (433 Park Avenue). 508-797-5622, www.foobarworcester.com.
