There are way too many cannabis brands in the state to definitively say who makes the “best” products—even though most of them claim to be the best at something (lol). So instead of trying, I’m building my starting five. One pick for each of the major categories: flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles and concentrates.
Point Guard: Flower From The Cure Company
The Cure gets the point guard role because of their consistency. Originally from LA, they offer unique strains like Bolato, Curelato Runtz and Cure OG. Their quality is hard to beat for the price. Their eye-catching packaging and weed give you something close to the experience of great street weed.
Shooting Guard: Pre-Rolls From Tower Three
I kind of hate pre-rolls, so if I’m smoking one, I want good weed inside it. Tower Three grows some of my favorite weed, making their pre-rolls an easy choice. They’re a little pricey, but the quality is there. They’d be my flower choice too, but they’re $40 or more for an eighth.
Small Forward: Live Rosin Cartridges From Treeworks
Full disclosure: I’ve never tried a Treeworks cart, but the hype around their vapes is nuts. A half–gram cart runs for $40, which is crazy compared to the usual $20 full–gram distillate cartridges you can find all over the city. Despite being twice the cost for half as much oil, live rosin carts are worth trying because a good live rosin vape can feel like night and day compared to a regular distillate cart.
Power Forward: Gummies From WYLD
WYLD gummies are some of my favorite gummies, right next to the Kanha Sour Belts (honorable mention). WYLD gummies are made with real fruit, so they taste phenomenal. They also offer plenty of different cannabinoid ratios, making them approachable whether you just want THC or something more balanced.
Center: Hash Rosin From U4EA
U4EA makes some of my favorite rosin. Their Amalfi Coast was something special—super gassy and got me very high. They’re a small team that makes top-notch rosin. There’s plenty of great rosin in the state, but U4EA gets my starting spot.
