While Worcester’s Pride celebrations are anchored in June and September, local LGBTQ+ community life thrives year-round. As summer settles in, events continue to offer opportunities for connection and entertainment. Here are a few ways to get Out and About in Worcester’s queer community this July.
Thursday, July 2, MB Lounge hosts a Drag Show and Latin Night Launch Party, blending Más Latinx Thursdays and ¡Bién Latina! for an evening of celebration and spice. DJ Lary will spin reggaeton, salsa, bachata, and cumbia, creating a high-energy atmosphere alongside cold drinks and a lively crowd. The event marks a fusion of drag performance and Latin dance night programming, setting the tone for a summer series of community-centered nightlife.
Summer means reading! Join Femme Bar’s Book Club July 7 and chat about This Will Be Funby E.B. Asher, a cute romance that mixes humor, adventure, and second chances. The story follows a group of former friends who once came together to save a magical realm. When they reunite for a royal wedding, old tensions resurface, past romances linger, and they’re unexpectedly drawn into a new quest.
The Golden Girls Tribute Show comes to the JMAC Friday, July 23 for a one-night-only performance. The drag parody features Golden Girls Bingo and trivia, musical numbers, sing-alongs, photo opportunities, and prizes for participation. Tickets are available through dragevents.biz/staygolden.
