Queen of Hearts: It looks like the old Queens Cup on Worcester’s Water Street will be reused as The Vegan Path restaurant. Judging by the name, I’m guessing it will be a new vegan eatery.
Now That’s Chill: Chill Kitchen and Bar will be opening soon in Westboro.
As Sweet As It Gets: Sweetgreen, a salad and bowl chain, will be opening at the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley in the near future. The restaurant will be adjacent to the Longhorn Steakhouse.
A Little Fire Slowed Them Down: After shutting an electrical fire in September, Vivienne on 446 Main St. closed its doors for six months. They reopened the last week of March and offer coastal Mediterranean dining.
Diamond In The Rough: Diamond Café on Northboro’s Main Street recently opened for breakfast and lunch with plans to add dinner hours. In addition to the regular menu, they offer acai and ice cream
Happy 80th to Harry’s Restaurant: Harry’s Restaurant is celebrating 80 years on Route 9, and the milestone is well earned. What started in 1946 as a small shack in Shrewsbury, when former house painter Harry Cohen decided to trade his ladders for a spatula, has stood the test of time. Here’s to 80 years and still going strong!
Shake Rattle & Roll: Shake Shack set to open in one of the new buildings at the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley on Route 146 in Millbury. It appears that the mall is becoming more of a food destination than retail.
End Of An Era: O’Connors Restaurant on the West Boylston line of Worcester has shut down. For decades you could barely get a seat when this iconic eatery was owned by Brenden and Claire O’Connor was sold a couple of years ago. The successful restaurant went downhill with the new owners, proving that ownership and personality play a big part in a restaurant’s success.
Reopening: Cordella’s on June Street in Worcester expects to remain closed for at least another month or two while making room for a cocktail and wine program. You can look for popups to get your Cordella’s fix in the meantime, they’re often at the Burncoat Center for Arts and Wellness at 78 Burncoat Street.
Lalo’s Closes Hudson Location: Lalo’s Mexican restaurant has closed its Hudson location after negotiations to purchase the space fell through. They will be opening a new space soon.
Hey Homies: Homie Slice, a new pizza place has opened on Millbury Street across from the Vernon Hotel. Homie Slice offers New York style pizza by the slice. Check it out!
Old Is New Again: Rio Viejo, a new Mexican restaurant, opened at 50 Franklin Street in downtown Worcester at the end of March. BTW Viejo means old.
