October in Worcester is bringing more than just ghosts, goblins and pumpkins—it’s a month packed with fabulous drag, burlesque, community events, and dance parties that promise to light up the city’s queer nightlife. From brunches with sass to late-night dance floors, Worcester’s queer community offers options aplenty for coming out to socialize and celebrate!
Burlesque & Drag Brunches at Femme Bar
Femme Bar is doubling down on brunch this month with two show-stopping Sunday drag brunches. October 5, the venue launches Silk and Satin, a new burlesque brunch featuring Jynx Merlot, Lady LaRouge, Dolores Sweet, and Lo-La La. Expect sultry performances, tasty mimosas, Femme’s renowned buffet brunch, and an atmosphere that blends glam with glitter.
Two weeks later, things get spooky with a Halloween Drag Brunch on October 19. Hosted by none other than RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Joslyn Fox, this brunch promises camp, costumes, and plenty of October thrills. Both events are 21+ and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
Worcester Gay Professionals Meet-Up
Networking meets Thai cuisine on Wednesday, October 8, as the Worcester Gay Professionals group gathers at Basil ‘n Spice. The monthly meet-up is a welcoming crew that continues to provide an opportunity for LGBTQ+ locals to connect, collaborate, and support one another in a casual, social environment.
Drag Gauntlet Continues
Cycle seven of Worcester’s Drag Gauntlet heats up with its second throwdown of the series on Friday, October 10 at Electric Haze. Known for fierce competition and crowd-pleasing performances, Gauntlet is where rising stars sharpen their craft and alumni return to cheer them on. Tickets are $12 presale, $15 at the door, with a special $10 alumni rate, available at the door only.
HOLLA, QUEEN! at deadhorse hill
If Halloween is about reinvention, then HOLLA, QUEEN! is the perfect place to unleash your alter ego. On Saturday, October 18, Queer for Cities teams up with deadhorse hill to throw a drag-themed Halloween bash starting at 9:30 pm. The only rule? Everyone comes in drag. Whether you’re a queen, king, goblin or ghoul, the door is open, and the dance floor is yours. A live DJ, freshly crafted cocktails, and an atmosphere of unfiltered creativity make this a night like no other. Tickets are $10 before October 1, $13 after, and $15 at the door.
Dancing Queens for Halloween
The queer party scene doesn’t stop there. On Saturday, October 25, MB hosts its annual Halloween celebration. Come in costume for the contest where the crowd decides who wins! The dance floor will be alive all night. Trick-or-treat your way down Green Street Halloween night Friday, October 31 for Femme’s Stoplight Party. Guests will receive red, yellow, or green necklaces at the door to signal whether they’re single, looking, or somewhere in the middle, adding a playful twist to the costume contest and cash prize competition. The night kicks off at 10 pm.
A Month of Celebration
Whether you’re looking to sip cocktails while watching burlesque, cheer on drag competitors, network with professionals, or simply dance the night away in your fiercest Halloween fantasy, Worcester’s LGBTQ+ spaces are aglow this October. Plan your looks and get ready because this month, Worcester belongs to the queens, kings, and everyone in between.
