Pho Sure, owned by Son Vo, has recently relocated to 501 Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, offering an authentic Vietnamese dining experience. Previously located on Route 9 in White City Plaza, between Dunkin’ Donuts and Planet Fitness, Pho Sure has now found its home in downtown Worcester, a city where it’s possible to get just about almost anything to eat.
The new location, which opened in January, features a large parking lot and is conveniently situated near Warden Street, the Salter School, and not far from Plantation Street. The move to this bustling area means Pho Sure can now share the flavors of Vietnam with even more people in the heart of the city.
The menu features beloved Vietnamese staples, including banh mi sandwiches, spring rolls, bun bo hue (a spicy noodle soup), and, of course, pho—the star of the show. For dessert or a refreshing treat, Pho Sure also serves a variety of fruit smoothies and bubble tea.

Pho is a noodle soup consisting of broth, linguine-shaped rice noodles called bánh ph?, some herbs, and meat, primarily served with options like Vietnamese meatballs, brisket, and thinly-sliced steak. Sometimes, they put some vegetables in a bag to be added to the soup, such as cilantro, mint, or bean sprouts. It’s one of the most popular foods in Vietnam and has been exported to the rest of the world with a number of them having pho as a specialty. It was particularly popularized by refugees during the Vietnam War.
For those looking to explore authentic Vietnamese dishes, Pho Sure is the place to be. “If you’re looking for a unique dining experience to send your taste buds on a far east escape, Pho Sure is the place for you,” said Vo on his website.
Vo and his Vietnamese employees make their broths and all their dishes from scratch using traditional recipes, just like if you found yourself in Vietnam. Only the “finest and freshest ingredients” to “showcase the best of Vietnam cuisine,” said Vo.
They feature classics such as banh mi sandwiches, spring rolls, bun bo hue, and of course, pho. They also offer a variety of fruit smoothies and bubble tea.
“Pho Sure is only a plane ticket shy of authentic Vietnamese,” Vo said.
According to Vo, “Southern Vietnamese eat it for breakfast and occasionally lunch, whereas those from northern Vietnam consume it at any time of day.” Pho Sure even offers bún bò Hu?, a related noodle soup that’s another regional specialty.
The restaurant’s prices are notably reasonable, especially compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Whether you’re stopping in for a meal or enjoying one of their well-priced cocktails, Pho Sure delivers great value. The menu is diverse, with options for everyone, including a kids’ menu.
For gluten-free diners, Vo has marked on the menu which items are safe for celiacs and gluten-intolerant people. Most of their food has a gluten-free option or is naturally gluten-free. Anyone with any other dietary restrictions can also be catered to as well. There’s even a “vegan corner” offering dishes to those who don’t eat meat or products containing anything from animals, including milk and eggs.
Pho Sure is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., except on Tuesdays when they are closed. They even let people split the bill, with no more than four different payment methods allowed per dining party.
Pho Sure can be called at 508-353-7368, their website is located at www.phosureshrewsbury.com, their Facebook is @phosureshrewsbury, and their Instagram is @phosureshrewsbury as well. They have a mailing list that can be subscribed to on the site, which sends things like specials and new menu items.
