It Was A Good Night: It appears that Havana Nights on Worcester’s Park Ave is now under new ownership. Their new name is Taino and they now offer Asian/Caribbean cuisine. 

2 Out Of 8. It looks like the Phantom Gourmet has selected 2 local restaurants for their sushi Great 8. The Sole Proprietor on Worcester’s Highland Street made the cut as did Yama Sakura in Northboro.

Another Brazilian Restaurant Is Set To Open: Arena Agrobar, a Brazilian restaurant, will open at the end of May at 102 Green Street. This was most recently the former home of Ju’s Restaurant, which lasted less than a year.

Name Change: Hudson based Rail Trail Flatbread has officially changed its name to The Rail Trail Pizza Co. According to their social media, “After much thought, we’ve decided to ditch the ‘F word’ and fully embrace pizza. It’s time for a change, and we’re excited for this new chapter.”

Is The Earth Still Alive: Kai Sushi opened its new doors at 232 Chandler St, which was home to the Living Earth for decades. They completed their move from the Webster Square Plaza and opened the doors the first week of April.  

Northshore To Blackstone Valley: The Kowloon, an iconic North Shore Chinese restaurant, will be opening at the Mendon Drive In. 

Hole In The Wall Not In Your Head: Food magazine Love Food recently picked the Miss Worcester Diner as the best hole in the wall restaurant in the Commonwealth.  Another honor that Kim and her team deserve.

It’s All A Haze: Victoria Mariano, owner of Electric Haze in Worcester’s Canal District, is expanding her horizons. She will soon open Pizza Shark NY Style Slices at 20A Millbury Street.

No Tariff Here: Chipotle will soon be opening a second Worcester location on Stafford Street in the Webster Square area. The Mexican eatery which prides itself on fresh food, will open adjacent to the CVS.

The Wait Is Over: Good news for all you folks who were waiting breathlessly for the opening of the Ground Round. April 30 was their official opening. Formerly owned by Howard Johnson’s, this local legend has been reimagined and is now located off Route 9 in Shrewsbury, near Staples.

Revington Gets An Eatery: A food chain that offers acai bowls, smoothies, and cold-pressed juices will open its doors in Worcester and Hudson soon. Playa Bowls, an acai bowl food chain based out of New Jersey, will be opening a new franchise located at 1 Green Island Blvd in Worcester, according to the city’s license commission’s agenda.
