When we think of New Year’s, we often think of sparkles, glitter and all things new. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, we are running around, trying to get the final touches on all the perfect gifts for everyone on our lists. Suddenly it’s New Year’s – and new beginnings. New Year’s Eve is an exciting evening out with friends and family, letting go of the old and embracing the new. Here are some popular trend-setting ideas to get you ready for the big night out and start your 2019 off right.

In the fashion world, we are noticing for 2019 that the black jumper suit is always a hot item. With soft, velvet fabric and a satin belt, it looks stunning and sultry as you walk into any party. A more casual look – but still attention-grabbing – would be a cranberry velvet blazer paired with skinny jeans and heels. Match your lipstick to your blazer, and you just added a nice pop of color to your makeup.

For a New Year’s Eve makeup look, the trends for the evening follow the themes of the evening. Very sparkly and glittery. For eyeshadows, you can go as soft as using silvers, golds or pinks, to different shades of lights and darks. Starting with the lighter shades towards the corners of the eyes and working the darker tones towards the outer edges helps create the illusion of bigger eyes. Work with a light highlight color towards the eyebrow bone to define. Make sure you use your blending brush to blend all shades together. You can even add a cut crease with a glitter liquid eyeliner to add more pop. Don’t forget to make your winged cat eye for that mysterious effect. Go all out and add some false lashes! Make those lips of yours as bold as you want them, because tonight will be the night to find that person to kiss at midnight!

When it comes to hair ideas for New Year’s Eve, anything goes! Big, voluptuous, romantic curls pulled over to one side is a gorgeous look. A high, bubble pony tail looks fun and playful! There is also the always faithful and beautiful updo. Be crazy and find some outrageous wigs! It’s all in good fun. Whatever you are wearing tends to determine how you will choose your hairstyle.
