It’s time to have some summer fun! Summer at ’72 is the first annual block party at 72 Shrewsbury Street. This all-day event features music, games, art, food and beer and will be held from noon-9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26. If nothing else, come and try a rosé slushie or a rosé sorbet float!
Summer at ’72 will be held outside in the spacious shared parking lot, with plenty of space for vendors and games. Simjang will be serving fried chicken and bibimbap, Deadhorse Hill will offer grilled Mexican street corn and tacos, Volturno will feature porchetta and sausage sandwiches, as well as pizza inside. Raw Bar will be serving up Island Creek oysters, and Rosé Wine Bar will offer rosés from around the world, frozen rosé slushies and rosé sorbet floats.Wormtown Brewery will also be in attendance, with a keg van that has three brews on tap. And don’t forget about the POW! WOW! special release can!
Wormtown’s special release cans will not be the only sign of POW! WOW! at the event. The mural festival will also have early access to new gear, passports for the 2018 season kicking off Aug. 31 and more!
In addition to food and drinks, Summer at ’72 will also feature entertainment from The Blue Light Bandits, named Best Live Act by the Worcester Music Awards, and DJ Chuck Chillin. There will also be a dunk tank that will raise money for local charities by allowing attendees to knock out their favorite Worcester personalities.
For those in attendance with a competitive streak, there will also be a corn hole tournament. Up to 30 teams of two will be competing in a double elimination style competition for up to $500 in prizes. Tournament entrance fee is $60. Enter now to claim your spot!
