On Monday, April 2, come and shed some light onto the ninth annual Autism Awareness and Acceptance Celebration! The event, hosted by Autism Resource Central, the UMass Medical School and UMass Memorial Health Care, will be held at UMass Medical School, 55 Lake Ave. N., Worcester, from 5:30-8 p.m.

Light It Up Blue, observed worldwide on April 2, is dedicated towards raising awareness and overall acceptance about autism.  World Autism Day is one of four official health-specific UN Days. On this international day, landmarks all around the world are illuminated blue in support of those who live with Autism.

HMEA, an Autism Resource Central located in West Boylston, served 3,500 families in Central Massachusetts.  UMass Medical School and UMass Memorial Health Care has the only clinic in Central and Western Massachusetts serving children and adults with autism and complex presentations. All of these organizations are dedicated to serving those with Autism, spreading awareness, and promoting acceptance for the community that they support.

The UMass Medical School will Light It Up Blue at 7:45 p.m. The event will include family-friendly activities, entertainment, music and food, as well as give information and resources to families in attendance. Free admission.
