Boston’s own indie rock pop quartet, We Were Astronauts, will collaborate with industry vet, Warren Huart, on its next EP.  This project is a follow-up to the band’s independent debut album, Outside Boston.  The band plans to take advantage of the winter months to hone in on the song ideas and refine and develop the songs before heading out to Los Angeles in March to record with Huart.

This Los Angeles-based British producer has played a fundamental part in the creation of platinum-winning and billboard-soaring albums, as well as the development of many of today’s successful artists’ careers.  A few of the many notable artists Huart has worked with include Aerosmith, The Fray and Augustana.

We Were Astronauts used Kickstarter to finance Outside Boston and plans to fund the EP through Kickstarter.

Antonio Casasanta, lead singer and rhythm guitarist for We Were Astronauts, said, “I truly believe Kickstarter and other platforms like it allow us to get close with our fans.  We have made so many new friends through this platform, and their involvement was (and is) critical to making our passion a reality. [Kickstarter] has the ability to create this sense of intimacy between band and fan base, almost as if they are the driving force in making our music come to fruition.  In reality, they are the very reason we have made it this far, and to them we are forever grateful.”
