California-based, Italian-made luxury eyewear brand, SHAUNS, has introduced its latest collection of handcrafted sunglasses for Summer 2013.

Drawing inspiration from the local California surroundings ~ a sumptuous sunset dinner with friends under a pergola overlooking the Sonoma Valley, in particular ~ founder and creative director, Shaun Paterson, has put forth a collection of sunglasses that celebrates the luxury found in exquisite simplicity.

In this season¹s collection, the brand pays homage to simple, exquisite luxuries in life like delectable wines, fantastic company and inspirational views; the collection incorporates reminders of these fine details within each pair. Wire frames in silvers, pewter and gunmetal throughout the collection were created with the inspiration of the clean, crisp lines of long white table linens in mind, offering well-balanced fronts with a heavy emphasis on a sharp, clean aesthetic. Wire frames in light gold, with a golden brown gradient lens, serve as a nod to the sunsets one might enjoy over the Sonoma Valley. On the other hand, acetate frames allow the consumer to explore some rich color ways and patterns, always complementary to the casual-chic feel that this dinner under the pergola may evoke. Colors presented in the Summer 2013 collection range from light nude to black, with many shades of brown and some green in between.

SHAUNS also makes it a key mission to do its part in alleviating significant social challenges. This season, SHAUNS continues its mission to help mobilize the global visually impaired community through its Give Sight program. With its Give Sight program, SHAUNS donates a pair of vision glasses and sponsors an eye exam for a person in a developing country with each pair of sunglasses sold. The brand has partnered with clinics in Ecuador and Honduras and plans to partner with more clinics globally to further serve this mission.
