Mother’s Day is coming up Sunday, May 12. If you haven’t done your shopping yet, what about giving mom the gift of time?
If you’re looking to have dinner with mom, check out Worcester-area restaurants at tasteworcester.com. You can check out area restaurants and reviews before making your final selection.
If your mom likes music, consider taking in the Worcester Chamber Music Society’s Thomas H. Keil Memorial Concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at Mechanics Hall. The concert is free and will feature a pre-concert talk 7 p.m. and Mozart Flute Quartet in C, Saint-Saëns The Swan and Schubert Cello Quintet.
This special Mother’s Day concert is dedicated to Thomas H. Keil who recently passed away. Tom was a long time supporter of Worcester Chamber Music Society as a fan, donor and participant in the WCMS Summer Festival (Tom was an avid amateur cellist). For more information, visit worcesterchambermusic.org.
If mom loves art, consider giving the creative gift of a spring or summer class. Worcester Center for Crafts is holding registration for Spring II classes (beginning May 13) and summer classes (beginnning in June). Classes and workshops are offered in ceramics, glass, jewelry, metals, photography and more.
Not sure what kind of class mom wants to take? Consider a Craft Center gift card, which can be used in purchasing classes and workshops or in the center’s Gallery Store. For a full class listing, visit WorcesterCraftCenter.org.
