Life in Color (LIC), the ultimate paint party event, is headed to the DCU Center in Worcester on Sunday, April 14, at 8 p.m. and will unveil its massive Rebirth tour, delivering a show that’s bigger and better than ever. This Rebirth tour follows the end of LIC’s previous 2012 E.N.D (Electronic Never Dies) tour.

“This will be Life in Color’s fourth visit to the DCU Center, previously [known] as Dayglow,” said Amy Peterson, director of marketing at the DCU Center.

The LIC experience includes a live concert and a packed audience indulging in high-energy music, art and dance. LIC features DJs, stilt-walkers, contortionists, fire shows, aerial acts and the famous Paint Blast, when cannons blast enough paint to cover every inch of the venue and audience members.

“LIC is part of the electronic dance music (EDM) genre of music and live event entertainment. EDM is centered on the beats, bass and rhythm. Often called ‘club music,’ EDM is music that is meant to be danced to. Life in Color is a unique, spectacular and innovative show that one must experience to comprehend,” Peterson said.

The LIC phenomenon was founded by the team at Committee Entertainment in 2006 and began as a tradition on college campuses in Florida. Since then, the party has spread throughout the country.

LIC has featured various DJs spinning the best in EDM, including Laidback Luke, Rodger Sanchez, Robbie Rivera, Diplo, Porter Robinson, Alex Gaudino, Static Revenger and LIC’s resident DJ, David Solano.

In its growing attempt to provide the latest and most innovative experience, in 2010, LIC created its Life in Color 3D tour. Life in Color 3D takes the LIC show to the next level, with 3D visuals playing throughout the show on several screens and dancing performers covered in 3D body paint. Every audience member gets a pair of 3D glasses to take in this eye-popping experience. LIC continues to come up with creative ways to wow audiences and keep the show fresh and unique.

As LIC continues to expand, it plans to reach each corner of the country and beyond, including New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, London, Cancun and Melbourne.

With that said, LIC is a huge event for the Worcester community, bringing all sorts of people together, especially the college scene.

“EDM is a genre of music and entertainment popular with the college demographic. Bringing events like Life in Color to Worcester contributes to the electric nightlife desired by the more than 35,000 students in the greater Worcester region. Additionally, the event draws students from Boston, Providence, New Hampshire and throughout Massachusetts,” Peterson said.

Besides being 18-plus and abiding by DCU’s food and beverage policy, Peterson notes two additional requirements: “You must have a ticket to enter and be ready to dance and have a great time!”

Tickets for LIC are on sale now and range from $42-$72. For more information, contact the DCU Center at (508) 755-6800 or dcucenter.com. Check out lifeincolor.com to learn more about the experience.
