WOOphoria is coming to the Hanover Theater in April. If you haven’t heard of the WOO Card until now, you are missing out!

The WOO Card program offers discounts to members at a broad spectrum of Worcester venues, from restaurants to performing arts. While a WOO Card costs $20, discounts are offered at WOOphoria events, and the college card is free for students within the Worcester consortium.

The WOO Card offers patrons an opportunity to experience Worcester restaurants, museums and cultural attractions. Every time you use this card, you gain points, and points can be used for prizes. Twenty points gets you a gift card, and 100 points gets you free tickets to a Hanover show. This card, which launched three years ago, is used by more than 6,000 people in Worcester County.

Ellen Ganley, of Worcester’s Cultural Development Office, said the best thing about this card is that it never expires.

The WOOphoria program, according Ganley, is all about “bringing people together to experience Worcester culturally.”

Ganley says that the entire goal of WOOphoria is “a series of events attracting people to the program and rewarding those who are already members.”

The April 18 event at the Hanover Theater from 5-7 p.m. is the Hanover’s second. The event will offer a night of food, fun and festive surprises and feature more than 30 Worcester area venues as patrons learn about the Hanover’s next season Broadway Subscription Series. Later in the year, there are two more WOOphoria cultural events scheduled: one in early June at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston and one in August at Worcester Center for Crafts. The exact dates will be announced soon.
