Summer’s a great time to catch all the big name festivals and the huge acts that we all know and love, but once the weather turns a little colder, it’s nice to head to an indoor club and listen to some different acts that just might become your new favorites…
DESTRUCTO
Friday, September 28 at Rise Club
DESTRUCTO has cultivated an incendiary live set that merges heavy metal bombast with propulsive, potent techno. It’s unlike anything out there, and he takes it into the studio for TECHNOLOGY, his five-song debut EP out now on Boys Noize’s emerging talent brand BNR TRAX. Featured on TECHNOLOGY, “LA Funky” seamlessly melds the techno sounds of Detroit, Chicago, Berlin and Ibiza into one perfect, year-round dance party. The EP’s title track, “Technology,” is the calling card of DESTRUCTO’s globe-trotting live performances, and drawing on the groove/build/explode dynamic he developed in his national tours with Crystal Castles and Rusko, it’s no wonder “Technology” has been in heavy rotation on Sirius XM and found its way into Boys Noize’s and A-Trak’s festival sets. You can watch the “Technology” video here: hardfe.st/HbMsW5. On “Stand Still,” discerning fans will sense the influence of rising stars OLIVER, who co-produced the EP. Within its propulsive groove, a harmonically processed voice dares you to “stand still.” Rounding out the record are contributions from BNR TRAX labelmates Jan Driver and BS1, who respectively take on “Technology” and “LA Funky.” Jan Driver is Boys Noize’s secret weapon, a producer and mastering engineer extraordinaire who takes the title track into gritty mental mash-up territory. BS1 provide a skilled re-work of “LA Funky.”

BORGORE
Friday, October 5 at Prime
BORGORE, the “bad boy of bass,” is launching BORGORE’S BAKERY TOUR, a North American fall trek. Tickets are available at borgore.wantickets.com/. Check out the video trailer for BORGORE’S BAKERY TOUR here: youtu.be/XcjPx7apg7o. In conjunction with BORGORE’S BAKERY TOUR, the Israeli beatmaker will make new songs available. “I’m releasing an EP more for my close circle, my hardcore fans, which will be super dubstep-ish, full on,” BORGORE recently told RollingStone.com (8/23/12). The tracks featured include “Smell Your D*ck,” “Turn Up,” and “Why Does It Feel?” BORGORE’s latest releases include the DECISIONS EP, which features the title track accompanied by remixes from French house producer Cedric Gervais, Dead Audio and BORGORE’s own Dub Mix reworking. BORGORE takes over the bass music throne with “Decisions,” which features his unmistakable wobble bass, a perky female vocal courtesy of Miley Cyrus and his own dubstep-influenced rapping. There’s also FLEX, the 4-song EP that represents a recent salvo in the 24-year-old producer/songwriter/DJ’s rapid ascent, featuring “Kiss My Lips” ~ a monstrous collaboration with dance-music siren Dev ~ and three versions of the title track: a pounding dubstep version, a hip-hop flavored take influenced by the “trap music” of Waka Flocka Flame and Lex Luger which prove BORGORE’s hardest, raunchiest beats yet, and a version remixed by Document One. Hailing from Israel via London, dubstep badass BORGORE ~ the man who claims he “ruined dubstep” and has earned the reputation as bass culture’s enfant terrible ~ is one of the most colorful characters in electronic dance music (EDM) today. He is infamous for his propulsive, interactive live shows, which have turned him into one of electronic music’s most popular, controversial figures. Expect nothing less than bass-in-your-face frenzy…but why would you want it any other way??
