Think you’ve got what it takes to be part of the Image Factory? Smashbox Cosmetics has teamed up with People StyleWatch to host the Image Factory Contest to celebrate the launch of its fall 2012 collection, Image Factory, and discover the next great photographer, makeup artist and stylist. Known as the modern-day image factory, Smashbox Studios is where the world’s top photographers and hottest A-listers meet to create tomorrow’s trends. With the Image Factory Contest, Smashbox Cosmetics is giving three lucky fans the chance to be a part of the trend-setting process and shoot for People StyleWatch.
Beginning in August, up-and-coming photographers, makeup artists and stylists are invited to upload three photos of their best work to ImageFactoryContest.com. Fans will vote on their favorites, and three finalists from each category (photography, makeup artistry and styling) will be chosen based on the number of votes. A panel of expert judges will then select a grand prize winner for each category, taking into account creativity and skill, as well as which submission best embodies the Smashbox Cosmetics brand aesthetic.
The winning photographer, makeup artist and stylist will be flown to the Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles to work on a real shoot for a Smashbox Cosmetics advertisement that will appear in People StyleWatch. The winners will be mentored by the following world-renowned industry veterans:
• Photography Mentor: Davis Factor, Smashbox founder and fashion/celebrity photographer. The great-grandson of Hollywood makeup legend Max Factor, Davis is one of the industry’s most in-demand photographers, shooting the most high profile campaigns and celebrities in Hollywood.
• Makeup Artist Mentor: Lori Taylor, Smashbox Global Pro Lead Artist. Lori has been the Lead Makeup Artist on numerous events over the years including fashion shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Los Angeles, Divine Design, the MTV Video Music Awards, and Stand Up to Cancer. After almost twenty years as a professional makeup artist, Lori lends her expertise to forecast the latest makeup trends in the fashion & beauty industries. She has worked on high profile celebrities such as Sandra Bullock, Sienna Miller, Paris Hilton, Amy Smart, Rosario Dawson, Linda Hamilton, Taraji Hensen, Shannon Elizabeth and many more.
• Styling Mentor: Jeanne Yang, celebrity stylist and co-founder of Holmes & Yang. A top Hollywood stylist, Yang collaborated with Katie Holmes to create the luxury fashion line, Holmes & Yang. She has styled some of Hollywood’s hottest leading men, like George Clooney, Robert Downey Jr. and Christian Bale.
