Finally, there’s a solution that will foil those pesky Ben & Jerry’s-stealing roommates of yours: the Euphori-Lock, a gadget that puts a clamp on the lid of your favorite pint of ice cream.

“This delightfully tongue-in-cheek concept actually came from one of our customers, who suggested we start selling our ice cream in stainless steel containers with little padlocks on them,” said Ben & Jerry’s Merchandise Maven Katie O’Brien.  Whoever that customer is, we thank him/her, because c’mon, is there anything more upsetting than having a crappy day in class, looking forward to drowning your woes in a pint of B & Js, and then finding that some heartless thief has eaten the last of your frozen therapy???

The contraption has been around for awhile ~ since 2002, actually ~ but it’s been making the rounds on the interwebs recently. It features a two-part plastic security ring that secures the lid, which can be unlocked with a secret code. Look closely at the inscription on the side: “I’m terribly sorry, but there is no ‘u’ in ‘my pint.’”

The gadget is available for purchase at the Ben & Jerry’s online store ~ www.benjerry.com ~ for $6.64.
