What is destined to become one of the city’s signature events will be held in Worcester’s Canal District on Sunday, October 30th, beginning at 8pm. Dubbed Canalloween,” this evening of fun will be hosted by establishments in the District; most of the venues are on Water Street, with a few scattered on neighboring streets.
Halloween is now the second most celebrated holiday in the US, coming in right after Christmas, and it was time for Worcester County to come up with a great Halloween party ~ and thus Canalloween was born!
Imagine one neighborhood with about a dozen Halloween parties all going on at the same time ~ costumes, friends, music, and more ~ and you get the vibe of Canalloween ~ a [Fun] Nightmare on Water Street!
Sponsors of the event include Coors Light Beer, Guinness and Wachusett; in addition, the newly renovated Canal Lofts are a sponsor along with radio stations WCRN, WXLO, The Pike, and Oldies 98.5. The presenting media sponsor is Pulse magazine.
In the future, organizers hope to include an afternoon kids’ event and a parade in the early evening.
