culture-davis-gallery-eliz-copy“All Mixed Up,” a multi-media exhibit that celebrates a range of materials and styles employed by over 20 local artists, is now running at The Davis Art Gallery, Printers Building, 44 Portland Street, 3rd Floor in Worcester and will remain open to the public through August 23.

“All Mixed Up” is the first juried exhibit at the Davis Art Gallery, drawing submissions from artists throughout Massachusetts. David Gyscek, Visiting Assistant Professor of Visual Arts at the College of the Holy Cross, was gracious enough to take on the difficult task of selecting works for the exhibit. As a gallery curator and an artist previously featured at the Davis Art Gallery, he was uniquely qualified to select to pieces that exemplify the theme of the show and work within the gallery space.  The artists showcased are:

The theme of mixed media was selected to feature a wide variety of styles and working methods. The entries did not disappoint, ranging from installations and found object assemblages to digital photography and collage. Visitors to the gallery will have a chance to become more familiar with many talented artists working in the area, including well-established names and up-and-coming artists.
