Worcester Center for Crafts is thrilled to present “Vases of Spring: 2nd Annual Vase Invitational Exhibit & Sale.” The show will run through June 24th in the Gallery Store at the Worcester Center for Crafts, 25 Sagamore Road, Worcester. The show features work by 25 nationally recognized artists from all over the country working in the mediums of glass and clay. Each vase speaks to the idea of the environment informing the aesthetics. For example, the works from artists based out of the Southwest are recognizably different from the vases made by artists along the Carolina Coast.
“Vases of Spring” will also be integrated into the upcoming exhibition “Unexpected Patterns” opening on April 7th in the Kirkorian Gallery at the Worcester Center for Crafts. Select vases will be chosen based on how they complement and respond to the patterns, textures, and styles of the Art Cloth that will be on display.
The Worcester Center for Crafts is one of the oldest-non-profit institutions for craft study in the United States. Founded in 1856 as the Worcester Employment Society to help immigrant women produce and sell hand-crafted wares to support their families, the Center evolved over the past 156 years into New England’s leading center for craft education, exhibition, and entrepreneurship. The Gallery Store at the Worcester Center for Crafts is one of New England’s largest retail spaces dedicated to showcasing exceptional avant-garde contemporary craft.
