The lifestyles of the rich and famous are always a fascinating topic for gossip (or great cautionary tales!), and the list of the indulgent food they order without a second thought is pretty extensive, especially  in times like these when the rest of us are all cutting back on non-necessary expenses. So while you and I are checking out the Burger King dollar menu, Chef Hubert Keller of the Burger Bar restaurant in LA prepares a “burger” of Kobe (Wagyu) beef, topped with foie gras, truffles, and a “secret sauce.” The good news?  It comes with fries.  The bad news?  It’s $5000.

Here are some other uber-indulgent foods that you won’t find on any drive-thru’s menu.

1.  The most expensive caviar in the world is the almas caviar! The word “almas” is Iranian for diamond. Beluga caviar comes from a fish over 100 years old, virtually unchanged for 120 million years. The luxurious caviar comes from the oldest survivor of the Dinosaur era. Beluga caviar ranges in price from more than $5,000 per kilogram in the United States.

2.  And to start your day off right, why not order breakfast at Norma’s restaurant in Le Parker Meridien Hotel, where executive chef Emile Castillo serves the Zillion Dollar Frittata, which is topped with lobster medallions and 1 oz. of sevruga caviar for $100. With the supersize version, you get 10 oz. of caviar – and a bill of $1000.

3. After filling up on breakfast, why not try a pizza for lunch? Nino’s Bellissima on Second Ave. offers a $1000 pizza with sliced lobster tails and four different kinds of caviar on it.

4. Ruby Roman grapes, the product of a special government-funded program that took 14 years to come to fruition ~ literally ~ will set you back a whopping $1,000 for a single bunch of grapes.
