Lyric Culture Lets You Wear Your Fave Classic Rock-n-Roll Lyrics
By Beth Franklin
Lyric Culture is a premium rock n’ roll apparel line driven by the lyrics of the most legendary musicians of all time including The Beatles, David Bowie, Janis Joplin, Queen, The Rolling Stones and countless others. Lyric Culture fuses high fashion and music in a ground- breaking way, allowing the wearer to express themselves through lyrics of classic songs.
The designer of these rock-n-roll chic pieces is Hanna Rochelle Schmieder, a singer/songwriter who, a little more than 3 years ago, was inspired to create a line of clothing with popular lyrics stitched or screened both on and in them. She secured the exclusive licensing rights from virtually all the major record companies and now produces hundreds of thousands of garments and accessories for each of the four seasons per year.
What is really novel about her idea (in addition to how great the designs look!) is she uses the clothing business to create a novel new revenue stream for the songwriters and recording artists who penned the lyrics now emblazoned across her products. Admittedly, some are quite well off and don’t necessarily need the extra income, but many are the unknown songwriters who never gained notoriety or much financial gain from the songs they wrote for rock stars and who, in this fading music industry, could definitely benefit from Hanna’s efforts.
Hanna’s line offers tons of styles and includes women’s tunic tanks (The Beatles “Can’t Buy Me Love” [with crystals] is h-o-t!), women’s modal Jersey U-backs (with songs including The Troggs “Wild Thing”), women’s crop tops (lots of choices, but “Piece of my Heart” by the inimitable Janis Joplin is my favorite), and of course, the product that launched it all, the incredible viscose wool cotton spandex scarves that are a must-have to add that little bit of edge to every outfit ~ just look at Ms. Halle Berry, rockin’ the “Satisfaction” scarf ~ and no offense to Ms. Berry, but since my birthday is right around the corner, I’m already hinting that I’d REALLY like KISS’s “I Wanna Rock-n-Roll All Nite” version!
