The Study is a chic 124-room (including 8 Studies and a Presidential Suite) boutique hotel featuring a contemporary European design, located within the Yale University Campus on picturesque Chapel Street in New Haven, CT. Standard guestrooms feature a comfortable leather reading chair with ottoman, extended work surface, lofty feather bed, seersucker robes, glass-enclosed shower, flat screen television, and complimentary wireless high-speed internet. Most of the Studies feature a separate den with stocked bookshelves.

Literature, art, music and design are central themes tying in all of the details of The Study. The overall aesthetic of the hotel is focused on providing a surprising and delightful experience for visitors to New Haven, from the residential feel of the hotel’s public spaces, to the bountiful display of books in both the lobby and many of the guestrooms, to the artwork (including that of acclaimed artist Barbara Cole) in the guestroom corridors. Guests of the hotel also enjoy on-site amenities such as valet parking, evening turndown service, a hotel Concierge.

The Fitness Center’s cardio machines are equipped with built-in televisions and wireless iPod hookups. You can also feel free to listen to music in your room using the iPod docking station. Complimentary wireless internet access is offered throughout the hotel.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Heirloom, is led by Executive Chef Carey Savona and features innovative yet classically-inspired cuisine. The culinary experience at the modern restaurant showcases the discriminating taste and creativity found throughout The Study, and includes a bevy of dishes that reflect Chef Savona’s commitment to seasonality and local ingredients. By creating a menu based on ingredients, Carey can introduce guests to new dishes while also focusing on taking classic items and turning them on their ear.

A take-out inspired room service menu is available throughout the day and evening, from 6am to midnight. The “Food for Thought” menu features classic takeout items with a sophisticated twist: such as lobster fried rice, and a baguette with jamón, cheese, and wine. And when you need to escape from it all, you can workout in our Fitness Center, where the cardio machines are equipped with built-in televisions and wireless iPod hookups.

Because of the hotel’s location within the historic Yale University Campus, and their sponsorship of many Yale programs and events, guests of The Study can enjoy all the Ivy League campus offers, including complimentary tickets to Yale Athletic events, Yale Music School performances and concerts and Yale Repertory Company plays. Many of the Yale cultural institutions ~ such as the Yale Art Gallery, Center for British Art and the Peabody Museum of Natural History, offer free admission and are within easy walking distance of the hotel, as is Yale’s historic Old Campus and the New Haven Green.

So come, indulge yourself for a weekend ~ read, relax, explore, dine…The Study at Yale is a stunning hotel that, although merely a short drive away, will transport you from daily life to a much more tranquil and inspiring place.
