BUUUZ, a company based in Santa Cruz, CA, has launched BUUUZ.com, the world’s first social web service that connects users with similar interests rather than existing friendships. The BUUUZ social news experience is available at www.BUUUZ.com.

The BUUUZ service allows members to create virtual “islands” based on subjects of interest that are populated by information from select RSS feeds and community discussions. Members can create an “island” for a topic by picking a few keywords that best describe one of their interests. For instance, during the Super Bowl thousands of fans used their favorite team name as an island keyword to be alerted about the stories and discussions mentioning them.

Community discussion is facilitated through “message bottles” where questions can be asked and comments made regarding any topic. Other members who have matching interests then receive the color-coded message bottles (yellow bottles come from RSS feeds, green bottles contain public messages, and red bottles are private notes passed between two users) and then can respond to the community.

In under 60 seconds, BUUUZ members can master and begin using the sleek and fun interface to join a community that encourages communication and conversation. BUUUZ’s unique approach to social networking links like-minded individuals and provides a secure platform to share stories, anecdotes and expertise.
