In the mood to try someplace new this weekend? Well, you’re in luck! Chasers has arrived in Worcester. Located at 90 Commercial Street, right across from the DCU Center, the brand new bar/club/lounge is making a name for itself with its fresh and positive vibe.

Mike Walsh, owner of Chasers, has been in the business locally for 15 years. “I was approached by the managing group of the building to take this on. The building is beautiful, I love it. We put in new rugs, paint, tables, re-wired the sound, lighting, and put in a stage. We really cleaned it up,” Walsh says. By working with his Assistant Manager, Nicole Gingras, and Head of Security, Lee Chase, the Chasers Team has really made the place into something unique.

Just open as of Friday, February 20, the 8,000 sq. ft Chasers has already seen a great deal of success. “We had an amazing opening weekend,” Walsh says. “We had a really positive response.”

Chasers isn’t just a bar, it also takes on the role of “pub.” With its short bar menu, including build-your-own salads, a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and pizza, anyone is sure to be satisfied. “What’s great is that most of the menu is under $8.50,” Walsh says.

Chasers also knows that hunger can strike late at night, especially after a long night of drinking, so they have their “late night menu,” which starts at 11:30pm. It consists of hot dogs, sliders, pizza etc. Walsh goes on to say, “The waitresses will come out and just go around to the tables with the food and people can choose what they want.”

The concept for Chasers is simple and versatile. Walsh explains, “The first floor is very laid back, and there is a game room with 25 TVs. The upstairs area opens at 9pm, where a DJ spins from 9pm-10pm, local and regional bands play their first set 10pm-11pm, the DJ returns 11pm-12am, bands play their second set 12am-1am, and the DJ finishes off the night 1am-1:30am.” You can find this variety happening on the second floor every Friday and Saturday. Not your cup of tea? Check out Thursdays at Chasers for acoustic night instead!

Check out the third floor for comfy couches, tables, viewing areas of the stage and more, and areas for private parties. “It’s a great area for guest bands and private parties to hang out,” Walsh adds.

Make sure to check out the martini bar with 30 different martinis. The kicker? They’re all five dollars!

Walsh and the rest of the crew at Chasers also find it important to reach out to the community. “We plan to do a lot of corporate functions, charity events, comedy shows once a month and bus trips to Red Sox games, Country Fest and more. We really want to make a positive change and impact,” Walsh says.
