Especially after being so pleased to include 23 year old author Joseph McGee in our January People to Watch issue, we at Pulse were so shocked and saddened to learn that he had passed away due to complications from his diabetes. Joe was a wonderful individual ~ talented, warm, family and community-minded ~ and we were lucky enough to get to know him a few years ago when he contributed several articles to our magazine. For all his successes, he was always humble and appreciative ~ and an example of someone who truly had a passion for what he did.

Joe will be missed, and to his dear mother Terri Conte-McGee, to the rest of his family, and to his friends and colleagues, we send our most heartfelt condolences.
